Families love the Marina beach for its gently sloping seabed and the long free stretches where there is room even at the height of summer. Around it, places that genuinely work with children: nothing in this itinerary is more than half an hour's drive away.
Day 1
The beach five minutes away on foot and slow rhythms: pale sand, shallow water at the shore and the protected dunes where the Caretta caretta turtle nests in summer.
Day 2
Eight minutes away, the park of ancient Kaulon: the great mosaic of dragons and dolphins is a little treasure hunt for the young ones, and the museum is right next to the digs.

Day 3
A morning by the sea, then the waterfall on the Assi stream: a short walk gets you there, and the natural pool is the final prize.

Day 4
At Roccella Jonica the Carafa castle overlooks eight kilometres of sand: a swim, an ice cream on the promenade and photos from the Porto delle Grazie.
Day 5
Soverato's sheltered bay is perfect for children; in the late afternoon, shops and a stroll through the Pearl of the Ionian.
Day 6
Late afternoon in the village of Stilo, once the heat drops: the five-domed Cattolica looks straight out of a Byzantine fairy tale.
